TULIP FEST'S OVER, BUT ITS BLOOM REMAINS.(CAPITAL REGION)

ALBANY -- Thousands of people jammed Washington Park Sunday, but the Tulip Festival will continue, unofficially, for several days.

``We've got 60,000 tulip bulbs full and in bloom that will last the week,'' said Parks and Recreation Commissioner Richard J. Barrett Jr., who estimated 75,000 people attended the final day of festivities. ``A lot of elderly people won't come down when there's a big crowd.''

Sunday's gathering outpaced Saturday's showing of about 45,000, officials said, as the sun emerged and families sought a Mother's Day outing.
